The Poets of El Sol

With a grant from UC Berkeley's UC Links program, I've been conducting practical research on teaching poetry to 3-8 grade students at El Sol Science and Arts Academy in Santa Ana, CA, since 2003. This project engages university students from UC Irvine through in class poetry workshops at El Sol, an innovative, award winning dual language immersion charter school in an urban, largely Latino city. Every so many years, I collect, edit and publish student work into artful, print anthologies.
